The applause was thunderous as Bainco’s Robert Katz was recognized at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowest annual auction and gala. Robert was the recipient of the Michael C. Sullivan Memorial Award, given to an individual who shows passion for the club and believes in its’ mission. He has supported the organization since 1988 as a Director, youth mentor, coach, and community advocate. During this time, as a member of the Marlborough City Council, Robert helped pass the Child Protection Ordinance, which requires mandatory background checks for anyone who works with youth in the city.
As is typical for Robert, he deflected the attention of the award away from himself and openly shared the honor with all the various teams that have worked together over the years to make the club the success it has become. He told the audience of 300 that “these kids deserve a strong future and deserve our continuous support”. As he pointed out, the club has given so many children opportunities for success by working with mentors and coaches and learning about the value of community and friendship. Robert spoke of the joy of watching the kids “learn, struggle and grow into the young adults they are today”.
“If we play together as a TEAM we are stronger than if we try and go it alone as an INDIVIDUAL.”
– Robert Katz
Bainco has been fortunate to have such an upstanding individual on our team for the past 25-plus years. His personal commitment to the well-being of children is reflected in the care he takes in helping our clients plan for generational impact; philanthropy, education, and family partnerships, just to name a few. Robert works hard to contribute to our success in so many ways and always does so with a smile on his face and a helping hand.
Thank you, Robert for all that you do both in and outside of the Bainco community. And congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
